Russia Endorses India's Bid for Permanent UNSC Membership

The Russian Ambassador to Delhi, Denis Alipov, has stated that Russia supports India's bid to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The UNSC is comprised of 15 members, 5 of which are permanent members with veto power (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States).

India has been a strong contender for permanent membership, having played a major role in international peace and security efforts, as well as being one of the world's fastest-growing economies. Russia's support further strengthens India's bid for a permanent seat on the UNSC.
